Peace is a Journey
Not a day goes by when I don’t feel the pressure of a deadline. Add to that the unexpected events of life that seem to pop up at the worst of times. It is sometimes difficult to maintain perspective. Since the pandemic broke out stress seems to have gone up another notch. With online schooling for the kids and 100% working from home for me and the wife, it feels like I live where I work and work where I live. This is not a healthy thing.
Peace in the Garden
One thing that has really saved the day in terms of managing stress is the awesome garden that we planted this year. It was amazing watching the plants grow and produce a bounty of fruits and vegetables.
Bountiful Harvest
So much food we hardly know what to do with it all. We canned, pickled and froze as much produce as possible. And we had so many meals of fresh cooked vegetables. I think we had ratatouille at least three times over the summer months. Yum.
Media Fear
The other thing that seems to be crazy is how much fear is being peddled by the media. Every day it seems they report the COVID-19 statistics with obvious glee. I for one am not convinced that I really need to be afraid. Especially since it would seem that the reported deaths weren’t actually from COVID-19 but almost all had comorbidities that definitely skews the death rate back below the common flu category of diseases. So what can we do about all of that?
The Cure
Here’s some good advice.
That’s all I have for now. Thanks for reading.
